ImHosted are known as one of the cheapest of the more reliable hosting companies out there today. ImHosted got some VERY bad press in 2007 as a result of their horrendous technical support response times. What’s worse is that they did not acknowledge it for so long but the important thing is that they did. They lost a lot of customers in early 2007 but publicly announced on their blog that issues were addressed, apologized and have since gone from strength (or lack of it) to strength. Hostdir applauds them.

CONS:
- ImHosted have a pretty piss poor reputation from the past. This is sorted now but the history books have severely tarred their name. Shame because they are are now a hostdir top host.
- IMHosted do not offer free domain names, although they do offer them for $1.
- ***Update*** ImHosted seem to have responded and now offer free domains for life!
- IMHosted do not offer any free advertising credits. (fine if you don’t want them I guess).

PROS:
- IMHosted offer over 100 different applications with one click install including Joomla, Wordpress and OScommerce.
- IMHosted have a lot to prove. Tech Support is now well above par and support lightning fast.
- IMHosted are one of the very few to offer a Free SSL cert when you sign up for any package.
- IMHosted have server more resources than 6 of the top ten hosts on our toplist.
- ImHosted have by far and away the cheapest hosting packages available today.
- Unlimited databases, emails and domains. Do we need to say any more about that?

I moved from lunarpages to imhosted last month and I never realized how slow lunarpages was! I was a little pissed I stayed with them for so long. Imhosted have been pretty great and applied the discount you gave after a little trouble.
So far, not a second of downtime (that I know of) and it is a refreshing change. I would give my thumbs up to Imhosted and have already recommended to friends.
Anyone thinking of switching, go with Imhosted. Seriously.

I have to agree with Caroline above…IMhosted have been absolutely fantastic for me. I was not aware that thay got so much bad press but I have only been with them 8 months now. Like Caroline said, I too have not seen a single second of downtime.
Maybe their lack of customers means more resources for us? Who knows.

I’m quite happy. Never knew they had a load of bad press, honestly, it means nothing to me and I’ve been hosting my business store with IM hosted for a year.More than happy to stay another year.My web designer/developer has also said that their hosting is not as restrictive as other shared hosts. He can install php modules and edit the php.ini file without issues.
One thing a lot of people forget is that imhosted have an uptime SLA. If they go down, you get money back. SO far though, no downtime for my store.
