Host Gator has been probably the highest rated hosting site for the past 14 months. Hostgator have without a doubt the largest volume of clients (sometimes to their detriment) and considering their size, have scaled pretty well. Hostgator actually host dome of the biggest sites on the web on their dedicated package and host literally millions of smaller businesses and e-commerce stores (Including some you may know). With the volume they obviously have some poor reviews but overall, assuming you don’t need any major custom plans, hostgator trump most other hosts.

CONS:
- Hostgator can sometimes be VERY slow to reply to support requests by email at the weekend.
- No Live chat
- Hostgator can struggle with scaling sometimes.

Been a hostgator customer for 2 years now and job oxo to them! Hate to sound like a fanboy but hostgator rock! Had one day of downtime that I remember and in fairness, they gave us a notification email for it and gave us coupons for additional hosting which they didn’t have to do.
I wouldn’t go with any other host. Seriously.
I would have to agree mate. I’ve only been with hostgator for 4 months having gone through 6 (yes SIX) other hosts that were sloqw and support was brutal. Hostgator have been fantastic, their live support and phone support is really good and they even installed FFMPG on my VPS for free within hours of me requesting it. NO OTHER HOST would even consider this. A++ here for hostgator.
The reason so many people go with hostgator is because they are by far the best!
I am a web designer in the UK and I refer all my clients to host with hostgator. Hostgator are run by internet.com and have been around a long time. Go with them if you know what’s good for you.
